How do I install WordPress?

WordPress is by far the most used platform on most blogs and websites. At first, it might look complicated but you’ll enjoy in the long run especially because of having “PLUGINS” which enables a lot of add ons you don’t usually get from normal blogging/website platforms.

So you want to use WordPress?

Then we’ll teach you how. First, like we usually do, you just have to log in to your cpanel. Now look for Software/Devices. Normally, you can find there Fantastico, Installtron or Softaculous. But in case these softwares isn’t around, you can use the Site Software.

In this case, we will use Softaculous. To proceed, we click Softaculous.

When you get here, all you have to do is look for “WordPress” at the left side at the “Blogs” section then click it.

Then you will be taken here. Click Install.

Afterwards, you will be asked to fill in required information

In the field next to Choose Domain choose the domain you wish to install WordPress too

whether it is your main domain or a subdomain. If you want the to have the WordPress blog on your very domain, make sure the Directory is blank. But if you want it somewhere else type in Directory where you want your WordPress blog.

ie. http://www.myblog.com/blog (with “blog” entered in the Directory)

http://www.subdomain.myblog.com/blog (subdomain, “blog” entered in the Directory)

http://www.myblog.com (blank in Directory)

http://www.subdomain.myblog.com (blank in Directory)

After filling it all up, press “Install

This message will be shown after a successful WordPress Installation. If not, errors will show and you will be still at the page where you were asked to fill in information. You can easily find out why there was a failed installation since they indicate the reasons why it won’t install. After a successful installation, you will also be notified by Softaculous.

Congratulations! Now you have your WordPress blog!
